LIFE BEFORE ANYTHING - THE ASSOCIATION« A special documentary bringing people with cancer and their supporters together for an adventure of a lifetime… »
The documentary will be entitled “LIFE BEFORE ANYTHING” , A difficult and personal contemplation about life and death. It aims to give a sense to living after being ill. Aymeric, Jean-Michel, Françoise, Gilles and Céline are in their 20s, 30s and 40s and have all faced cancer. These people are still fighting against the disease and its consequences. Cancer specialists who have looked after them and still willing to support them want to show together that hope and motivation are primal therapeutic assets. These individuals could not have overcome the treatments without their common sense of Life, Hope and Dreams. Today, they want to prove that those dreams and hopes have become a crucial help in this struggle. Aymeric ALLARD, promoter of the “LIFE BEFORE ANYTHING” Project , is determined stand by them and make people share their experiences and testimonies, helped by the film crew. Together, they want to show familial, social and professional consequences of the cancer treatments involved in the disease. Above all, they would like to prove that their dreams and hopes have truly helped them see life in a different way and eventually recover a life they are fond of. The documentary will be filmed in the Kimberley region of Western Australia this August 2006. It will involve 12 people experiencing a motorbike and 4WD adventure in the Australian wilderness confronting spectacular nature and different cultures. It will be a true challenge and a real journey to their own reflections on Life and Death. Australia is particularly responsive to cancer and the venture will provide an opportunity to meet Australian associations and fondations concerned with cancer to exchange, compare therapeutic aspects and create a relation of support in between these two countries. This film will be widely broadcast throughout France and the world to help patients and their families in their struggle against cancer as well as informing the general public about living with cancer. The documentary will also be used as a educational vehicle to help specialists, physiotherapists and nurses with their intimate support of cancer patients. In a long term vision, the “LIFE BEFORE ANYTHING” Association intends to continue the organisation of future trips between patients and therapists every year to establish a real medical, social and cultural link with Western Australia. “LIFE BEFORE ANYTHING” Association can only achieve this project through the generosity of our sponsors and partners .
